Manson US Sales Drive.
Following a whirlwind sales trip around many of the US yards,
Sales and Marketing Manager Ned Wood returned with a backlog
of work and a backlog of quotes to prepare. With over seventy
appointments in just under three weeks we were all very interested
to hear about his trip. Putting faces, pictures and reports
to names that we'd been reading about in magazines for years
was great. Ned commented that he'd really enjoyed his trip
and remarked on how friendly all the people he'd met had been.
But to the business end, we've received nine orders already
and have them under construction with three delivered. Ned
said that a combination of the low New Zealand dollar, competitive
pricing, ICAS certification and superior aesthetic finish
meant that many new clients had been keen to immediately place
orders. Others indicated their intention to offer Manson a
chance to quote at the next opportunity so we hope to compete
well. Great work Ned.

Mirabella V anchors.
Manson recently won the tender to supply Mirabella V with her
anchoring requirements. A combination of price and flexibility
in working with the specific requirements of the design team
were sighted as significant factors. Mirabella is currently
being built at Vosper Thornycroft in London England for Joe
Vittoria. At 246 feet she is the largest single masted yacht
in the world and has been designed specifically for chartering.
Manson are building two 'Ray' anchors one 600kg (1320lbs) the
other 400kg (880lbs). Both will be made from 316 Stainless Steel.
They will sit vertically in the specially designed bow section.

Four out of Seven Ft Lauderdale award winners Manson Clients.
Manson Clients took four of the seven Society of Superyachts
awards at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show which ended on November
4. The 40m (130ft) classic modern ketch Victoria of Strathearn,
built by Alloy Yachts, won the Best Sailboat over 36m title
and the Best Sailing Yacht Interior gong. Silvertip, a 34m (111ft)
sloop from the NZ Yachting Developments yard, took the Best
Sailboat 23 to 36m award, and the 35m (115ft) motor yacht Surprise,
by McMullen and Wing, was judged Best Powerboat 32 to 43m. We
congratulate our clients on their wins.
Yachting development's Barry Thomas remarked, "The anchors
were one of the most revolutionary parts on Silvertip. We had
to have them exact as the entire anchor system rotates out from
the bow. They did a fantastic job and we were able to bead blast
them to replicate the titanium on the boat. Super work!"

Alloy's urgent twin ploughs.
Expedience was key when we received an order for two 360kg Stainless
Ploughs. Our quick turnaround meant that Alloy Yachts International
took delivery of their product exactly two weeks later. Thanks
to the team who worked late nights to get the order out on time.
The two (800lb) Stainless Plough anchors are to go on "Tiara"
the 180ft Alloy due for completion in February.

Boat shows at Sanctuary Cove and Ft Lauderdale
Manson will have a presence at at least two of the Major International
Boat Shows this year. Traveling to Australia for the Sanctuary
Cove show in May and the Fort Lauderdale Show in October/November.
Tentative plans in place to also get to Monaco in September.
The stands have been designed and we've devised quite an interactive
display, hoping to illustrate design differences and also the
finish of our product. We hope you all get the chance to pop
by our stands.

Manson to build new factory
An update on the new factory. Plans have been drawn and construction
will start in late April on Manson's new 19,000 square foot
facility. With a surge in sales and staff numbers Manson is
fast out growing it's existing facilities. "We had scheduled
the development to take part in early 2004 but have bought
it forward six months due to faster than anticipated growth,"
comments Manson General Manager Steve Mair.
