The right size of anchor for you

The anchor weight, chain length and warp must match the size of your boat to attain an effective hold.

Factors such as vessel windage, displacement, beam, length, existing chain size and overall what the vessel will be used for all marry together to determine the best size for you. This isn't an exact A=B so it pays to err on the side of caution if in doubt. A slightly larger anchor will probably mean more peace of mind when you go to sleep on board.

This chart will help you select the correct equipment. If in doubt, choose a larger size especially if you spend a lot of time anchoring in heavy weather.
